We’ve compiled answers to some questions typical to our company’s services. Perhaps you’ll find your question addressed below.
How does tooling affect a project?
Tooling is an important part of every project. Tooling is designed specifically and used exclusively for your part. Our customers purchase the new tooling and the tooling is owned and maintained by Areway. We require a 50% deposit when the tooling order has been placed and the balance due upon its completion.
What is Areway's normal part finishing turn around time?
Product turns are flexible based on volumes and customer requirements. Some customers have daily deliveries, but our standard lead-time for parts that require normal processing is 14 business days. These items are discussed in the development phase of the project.
Does Areway have warehousing capabilities ?
Yes, Areway has resources to store your product. Ask your salesperson for details.
Does Areway run small lot jobs?
The most common lot sizes at Areway are between 500 and 1,000,000, but Areway looks at each project as an opportunity. We’ll always discuss your needs with you and decide upon the best course of action.
Can Areway handle all phases of a project?
Yes, Areway will handle your project from beginning to end. We will purchase raw material, fabricate it, audit, assemble and pack your project.
What is corrosion?
Corrosion is natural electrochemical process that causes oxidation and/or degradation of a material. This can have a negative effect on it’ appearance, function or service life. Areway strategically plates various different metal layers to slow this process.
Is dunnage/packaging provided?
This will be discussed during product development. Customers are to provide all dunnage/packaging along with a detailed description or photo of how the packaging should look as it leaves our facility. Customers are responsible for maintaining the package inventory at Areway.
What condition does incoming material need to be in?
The condition of incoming product will have an affect on the cost of processing and possibly the look and performance of the finished product. This topic will be discussed during product development.
What is your inspection and testing capabilities?
Areway has a full service Laboratory Capabilities: Chemistry Analysis, Microscopic Examination, Plating Thickness Testing, Adhesion Testing, and Corrosion Testing. We follow customer specific test requirements, ASTM, SAE and many other industry specifications. Visit our Tech Center
How do I go about becoming an Areway customer?
Submit a Request for Quote (RFQ), credit references from three of your vendors and your bank, and a signed purchase order based on our quotation.
What items are required on a purchase order?
Yes, purchase orders are required before the start of processing and should contain the following elements: Buyer Information, Signature of Buyer, Part Number, Quantity, Price, Total Cost, Method of Shipment, and Ship to Addresses. Purchase orders can be faxed, mailed, e-mailed, or accessible on the web.
